Project Overview

Design and construction of a new animal shelter to replace the existing facility. The new facility will offer services similar to the services currently offered, which include: animal control, licensing, public receiving, administration/support areas, domestic animal holding, a vet clinic (spay/neuter and shelter medicine), and outdoor programmatic spaces.  The existing facility will remain operational throughout the construction process.

Mechanical Highlights

• Oxygen and vacuum systems piped to outlets in the operatory and surgery prep and recovery areas

• Industrial hot and cold water system piped to wash down stations and kennel trench drain nozzles in animal holding areas

• 100% exhaust and conditioned makeup air systems serving animal holding areas to provide 12 – 15 fresh air changes per hour

• High-efficiency single-zone variable air volume air conditioning units serving public receiving and office spaces

• Fully automated web-based building automation system designed and installed by FMB
